Miniature Needlepainting Embroidery

Hello everyone

Hope this finds you well and enjoying your Spring weather? Sorry that I haven’t posted for a while, but I have been very busy revamping my Miniature Needlepainting embroidery patterns. So lets chat about all things miniature!

All miniature patterns have been given a complete makeover – the original miniatures had wobbly hand drawn outlines, so these have been redrawn and you will find them much easier to work with. The instructions have been updated in step by step format, and for your convenience all threads have been converted to DMC stranded cotton. Some of the patterns have been recovered from the archives, re-stitched and enlarged slightly to make them easier to work on and there are also some new designs.

Miniature Collection

These endearing little designs have been adapted from vintage postcards such as the ones below and include portraits, flowers and birds. The new miniature patterns are available to purchase in the following formats:

  1. PDF pattern
  2. Printed pattern
  3. Lesson in miniature PDF
  4. Lesson in miniature Printed
  5. Embroidery journal pattern
  6. Iron on transfer pack + fabric

PDF Patterns

Although the designs are very detailed, they are a delight to stitch and don’t take too much time to complete. All patterns use DMC cotton. The patterns are available as PDF’s for instant download and include a copy of the pattern and the stitch guide

Printed Patterns

For those of you who prefer your pattern in print, you have the option of purchasing a printed booklet of each design which includes a printed copy of the stitch guide. There is also a special offer bundle of all 10 printed booklets and a stitch guide for less 20%.

A Lesson In Miniature

There is also a new lesson in Miniature embroidery which is suitable for both beginners and more advanced stitchers. The lesson is available as a PDF and Printed pattern which includes details on materials, preparation, stitches and step by step instructions. It is an attractive design that is simple to stitch and easy to follow.

Miniature Embroidery Journal

I have also created a miniature embroidery journal which is available as a PDF pattern for download. I spent a lot of time sewing different mock ups, to find the right size, format and presentation and hope you will agree that it is a lovely way to display your work. It would make a timeless keepsake or special gift for someone you love.

Examples of different fabrics that can be used for your journal

There are 8 pages in the journal, so you will need 8 pieces of miniature embroidery, or you could use previously embroidered miniatures or it could be used to display similar sized embroideries. What I love about the journal is that it makes a cute little book that can be stored, displayed or passed on and you don’t need wall space to display your framed embroidery!

Iron On Transfer Pack With Fabric

Finally, there is an iron on transfer pack available – Pack 9, which includes two transfers for each miniature pattern and a test transfer. In addition to this I have added 0.5m ( 0.54 yd) of natural cotton muslin fabric which is enough to stitch eight designs. The natural shade is a bit softer than the white and shows the designs off beautifully.

New and improved stitch guide

This includes basic information on materials and preparation and how to use polyester sewing thread for fine outlines. All the diagrams have been redrawn and clearly describe the characteristics of miniature embroidery and how to work smaller designs.

Miniature Embroidery Book

There is also a book on miniature embroidery which was published in 2015 should you want to add to your collection.

I hope you enjoy stitching these miniatures as much as I have enjoyed creating them and look forward to seeing how you originate your own little, miniature embroidery journals. Till next time, wherever you are in the world, keep smiling and happy stitching.

Trish
